Part-Time Legal Assistant

We are looking to appoint an experienced Legal Assistant to join our busy Private Client Department, which specialises in Wills, Probate, Powers of Attorney and Court of Protection matters.

This is an exciting opportunity within our well-established firm, embedded in the community since the 1920s. We are based in a harbour town close to the Lake District National Park, with rail links to Barrow-in-Furness and Carlisle making Whitehaven an ideal base from which to explore the beautiful county of Cumbria.

You’ll join an efficient, busy and friendly team, and assist with an exciting and varied caseload of matters.

Our accreditations include Lexcel, CQS and Cyber Essentials.

The position is a part-time position – 21 hours per week.

The ideal candidate should have administration/ secretarial experience. Tasks will include, but not limited to:
• New client on-boarding
• Communicating with clients, colleagues and stakeholders via phone, email, letter and face-to-face
• Diary Management
• Audio typing
• Ongoing day to day case management and dealing with incoming emails/ post
• Use of Quill Pinpoint software
• Filing
• Photocopying
• Carrying out administrative tasks for other departments

You will be a strong communicator, who is well-organised, pays attention to detail and has excellent time management skills. You will have a strong work ethic, positive attitude and willingness to learn. Confidentiality, tact and discretion are essential for this role.

Salary is dependent upon experience.
