In a keynote speech at the Chartered Institute of Legal Executive’s (CILEx) annual President’s Dinner, the Master of the Rolls, Lord Dyson, has highlighted the issues related to McKenzie Friends (MFs) and Litigants in Person.
Lord Dyson promised a public consultation on what he called the “serious problem of unregulated McKenzie Friends'”, following concerns over the lack of regulation and insurance where MFs are charging fees and thanked CILEx for their collaboration with the Bar Council and Law Society to produce guidelines for the profession in dealing with Litigants in Person.
