About Family Law :
We specialise in family law and childcare work.
Being a fairly large Firm we can call upon the expertise of other Partners to provide corporate, commercial, estate and inheritance advice.
We also have a close working relationship with our Accountants who provide advice in respect of tax and pension implications. We believe that this provides us with considerable expertise in depth to deal with all types of cases - no matter how difficult.
We are particularly experienced in dealing with divorces where there are complicated business assets and farming practices.
We have a high reputation in the local Courts, particularly the Whitehaven County Court, Carlisle County Court and the Family Proceedings Courts in Whitehaven and West Allerdale.
We believe that we have the strength of character to deal with complex and difficult emotional issues which can arise from the breakdown of any relationship. In particular we provide assistance in the following areas:
- Divorce
- Disputes involving children
- Childcare
- Tax and pension implications in respect
of divorce
- Separation agreements
- Inheritance claims
- Mediation
Our Family Team consists of three experienced Solicitors all of whom have considerable expertise.
We have all acted for parents and grandparents in disputes concerning children. We are able to offer clear advice in respect of any likely outcome should the matter reach Court and also provide support for both in what is a very emotional and difficult time.
In respect of child care cases, we believe that our Team is committed to providing assistance. Despite what is invariably short notice in these proceedings, we have a commitment to our clients to provide the necessary advice and assistance in Court - even when considerable work is required to be undertaken on a very limited time-scale.
We believe that our Family Team is totally committed to providing clear advice and support to all their clients - we provide assistance for private clients but are also committed to providing public funding where necessary. The department adapts the Resolution Code of Practice and Law society protocol when dealing with any case.
We have knowledge of proceedings involved in law both in England and other Jurisdictions.
Judith Rosemary Crisp heads the Family Law Department which consists of two further associates. She has a dedicated team of Family Lawyers at Bleasdale & Co. The Practice has an excellent reputation in Family Law.
Judith is a member of the Law Society Family and Childcare panel and an Accredited Specialist with Resolution. She is also appointed as a Deputy District Judge.
Judith Crisp and her team will be more than happy to help you.
