Drug driving case dropped

Our Mr Thompson represented a Defendant charged with an offence of drug driving.  From the Prosecution point of view it was a cut and dried case.  However, we obtained expert technical evidence, and presented a legal argument to the Crown Prosecution Service which resulted in the case being dropped before Trial.

Not guilty verdict on harassment case

Our Mr Thompson represented a Defendant charged with harassment.  The alleged victim had himself been convicted of dangerous driving three years beforehand, when he had run our client off the road.  Against this background, there was a trial where a number of witnesses gave evidence.  The Magistrates found our client not guilty.

Theft case: Not Guilty verdict

Our client was charged with an offence of theft from his employer when he was found to have a number of components manufactured by his employer, in his car.  His Defence was that he had borrowed the items in order to examine them for the purpose of a project he was engaged on.  Having heard the evidence in the case the Magistrates found our client not guilty.

Cyber Essentials Scheme

We are pleased to announce that we have been awarded our Certificate of Assurance for Cyber Essentials.

The five basic controls within Cyber Essentials were chosen because, when properly implemented, they will help to protect against unskilled internet-based attackers using commodity capabilities – which are freely available on the internet.

Organisations that undertake Cyber Essentials are encouraged to recertify at least once a year and, where appropriate, progress their security.

Since 1 October 2014, Cyber Essentials became a minimum requirement for bidding for some government contracts (”
